'Wav player' freeware update - 1.0.1.8
'Wav player', our little multimedia player, has been updated to version 1.0.1.8

It now is able to choose to which soundcard to play wav sound files to from the command line, with a new command line '/c:' option, as requested by Ken Garris. To use it, read the text file that goes with the program, ok? Although, for now, multi-soundcards only works with WAV files. Another new option - suggested by Denys Jones - is 'kiosk mode' that shows the program without any caption bar and centered right in the middle of the screen...

And, as always, this new version of the player - and a lot more freeware - can be downloaded from the freeware webpage.

'Favorite Tree' freeware update - 1.0.0.4
And, of course, as with any major updates, some small bugs had to be corrected - and some more improvements made - bringing it up to version 1.0.0.4

'Favorite Tree' freeware update - 1.0.0.1
My newest freeware, 'Favorite tree', has been updated - a lot - and has now gained it's first 'major version' number, up to version 1.0.0.1.

As you know, this is a free window's 'Favorites manager' with which you can manage, check and edit all your Favorites.

This version is much faster, only loading items on request (when you really need them), and has had the threads improved.

It also saves link checking status between uses, even when refreshing items, so it is much more efficient also.

And, of course, it is FREE and can be downloaded from the freeware page, as always!

WinXP theme support
And now all our freeware and regular software supports XP themes natively, so no more worries with the software being 'uglier' (not fully using user's XP themes) than all the rest wink

All freeware has been updated 1 point in version numbers because of this change.

A few more updates to the freeware
You can check the freeware webpage and download a couple more updates to some of our free software, if you use winXP.

Both Web Downloader and 'File renamer' now include support for - and use - native XP themes.

XP themes support is something that users have been requesting for a while, but only now has been added and tested, as I don't have winXP sad
By the way, if anyone has an extra version of XP to spare that he/she would like to send me wink,....

All other freeware will follow with support for this, as it really is a simple change - after you know how to do it, of course.

'Web Downloader' freeware update - 1.0.7.0
And another update to 'Web Downloader', up to version 1.0.7.0.

This time the update is simpler: a brand new full help file, explaining everything on the program, all options, how-to, etc....

If you use Web Download, just download this new version and replace your older one with this, saving all files in the archive to the same folder, as usual.

Some more updates to our software
Go check the freeware blog for a couple of updates to some of our free software.

Web Downloader has been improved with the addition of a few more processes to ease user's work and with a full windows help file explaining the ins and outs of the program.

Wav player, the multimedia player, now allows you to choose which sound card to use, if you are lucky to have more than one installed.

You can, of course, download all this - and much more - from our freeware webpage.

'Web Downloader' freeware update - 1.0.6.12
And another update(s) to 'Web Downloader', up to version 1.0.6.12.

The new changes / additions were:

• shows extended WinInet error messages with description when download fails, instead of the Window's somewhat 'cryptic' messages.
• download 'retries' are now user configurable. The default was 3, IE has 5 (or thereabouts). Now you can choose..
• software now tries to guess 'referrer' when adding a file, for those sites that need it to download.
• modifies IE download limits on registry, according to user's preferences on WebDownload.

This last one was introduced, because some users were having problems, as when configuring x simultaneous downloads on WebDownload, this value was never reached! Well, Windows has itself a default limit of max 2 downloads encoded on it's registry (as you can read here) and, unless this is changed, WebDownload - or IE, for that matter - can't download more than those at the same time wassat. On exiting, WebDownload resets this limit to the default the user had before, so no worries wink

Most of the changes were done from, again, the nice suggestions and debuging of tDJ that has been most helpfull with testing this freeware, so thanks again tDJ!

And as always, you can download this - and whole lot of other freeware - from our freeware webpage.
