post your requests, ideas, suggestions..  let's talk!

FREE software? Yes, it is!
A few people wrote back asking if all my freeware was really FREE... wassat (??)

Well, it is! Why do people find it so strange for me to be giving away my own software? I know I have had a few suggestions from users saying that I should turn at least some of it to commercial software, as 'they are so good' - their words, not mine wink - but everything on the freeware has always been free and I won't change it.

At least, as long as I am able to support the expenses of maintaining it, as downloads are now well above 200 Mb per day !!

Anyway, just download everything to your hearts content and keep sending me feedback on the programs as, more than donations - although those also help a lot - your suggestions and opinions are what helps me keep motivated to further develop those utility programs making them better to everyone.

'HowTo' regarding Free Software
Just as well, this is a very well written HowTo explaining how to 'pay' for free software. Just read it, and see if you agree with it, as it really describes well what most people think - mistakenly - FREE software does mean... wink

You can also read the official Free Software Definition from The Free Software Foundation, as a matter of fact...

A 'fake' linux kernel rpm package
We have created a 'fake' kernel package for those people - like us - that prefer to build their own custom linux kernels and just need an empty kernel rpm to satisfy rpm system dependencies, without having to install the full rpm kernel package...

With this, you can install any other rpm package that needs the kernel rpm to be there also. Of course, this is not the real kernel, and you must have your own kernel installed, or your system won't work crying. So this is not, I repeat, a full kernel package, so just download and use this one if you really know what you are doing and what you need it for...

A few Linux commands ...
Here are some basic Linux command line commands, as requested.

As on old DOS user, I am pretty familiar to using the command line; it can be a bit tougher for Windows users, so check the 'Read more' link bellow...

Terminal shortcuts...
When using any BASH terminal, you can always use a couple of shortcuts to save time (and to help you remember past used commands, without the need of typing them again), by making good use of BASH history, stored in ~/.bash_history (on your home folder).

These work in all BASH terminals, including Konsole, XTerm and gnome-terminal.

Creating a simple clock with date
Well, some people asked for it, and creating a simple clock watch is very simple really, just using a few Delphi components and a few lines of code.

So, here is the code to create one yourself and also to drag it (as a borderless form) around the screen. To check and copy it, just check the 'Read More..' link bellow.

Hope you find this useful. Questions anyone? wink
